33cl bottle: BBD 13 Jan 2016. Drank in The Station Hotel, Oakengates on 15th Oct 2014. Poured carefully into a Duvel glass. Golden body, sediment held in the bottle, white head with lacing. The aroma was yeasty with some floral notes and mild fruitiness. The taste more malty than the nose intimated, semi-sweet, some yeastiness and fruit notes too, nice carbonation.

UPDATED: NOV 27, 2014 350ml bottle poured in a chalice. Delicious Des Rocs specimen. Traditional Belgium Ale with the very characteristic Belgium yeasts smell and taste. Very complex beer. Quite close to a Triple to be considered "simply as a Blond. A: Hazy orange color. Many particles floating around (as the other Des Rocs that I’ve had). Huge creamy, bubbled and persistent white head which does not disappear totally leaving some lacings S: Wonderful. Sweet. Belgium yeasts is a must. Vanilla, cloves and malts T: Like the nose. Sweet upfront. Caramel malts, vanilla, cloves and hops. Light bitter end M: Medium and creamy body. High carbonation. Molasses sensation D: High [ BA Review @ 8/7/2010 ]

Bruser i munnen. Slank og elegant, en herlig aperitiff før lammegryten som venter oss.

Bottle shared with JMD at HNB 06.10.14. Hazy golden with floating sediments. White head. Spicy aroma with a hint of banana, clementine and orange. Same taste, but surprisingly sour for a blond/triple. Fairly high carbonation. Very refreshing.

Pours a hazy amber body with a medium head. Somewhat funky aroma of yeast. Rather mild taste of malty tones. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle at the brewery in Montignies-sur-Roc.
Murky pale amber with a creamy white head.
Candy sugar, cake frosting, light herbs / pepper in the nose.
Medium body, low bitterness and medium-low acidity.
Any finesse of Belgian yeast is lost in a sea of sugar.
Cloying sweetness, hard to take more than a sip.

Tasted in both its original "Nounnette" and the current "Abbaye des Rocs Blonde" form. Regularly structured, creamy, stable head over a deep golden-blonde beer (’old gold’). Aroma fruity (green apple, apricot, orange, pineapple), malty, some caramel, floral hops, ’jenever’, little bit phenolic. Taste fresh and fruity in onset, sweetish with medium carbonisation, smooth mouthfeel, yeasty, spicy tones, finish mildly hoppy with relatively well-hidden alcohol, though a hint of white rhum slightly warms the throat. Certainly not a bad triple, but I expected more from this, considering the great dark ales this brewery has produced.
