Bottle. Finally it’s christmas again. This beer is pushing the right buttons. Deep brown colour and and a thin long lasting head. Dark chrsitmas fruits and complex taste. Very well hidden alc. and superb mouthfeel.

Bottle at Kulminator. Deep ruby/brown colour with thin tight tan head. Smack of bitter choc, some mustiness and dark fruits (damsons, dark plums etc). Bit like Rochefort 8. Quite good in mouth with softish feel and more complex fruit flavours. Very good indeed.

Syrupy sweet aroma. Flavour is especially caramel, warming and with a little spice. Smooth, but I’m not blown away by the palate.

No#53. We seemed to go through quite a bit of abbaye des rocs stuff while we were there. The aroma is fruity with quite a bit of spice in there, some woody notes too. The taste is very similar with an alround good sweeness which makes for an excellently balanced beer.

(Bottle at Delirium Cafe, Brussels)Amber with lots of yeast in it. Lasting offwhite head. Aroma is malty with vanilla and toffee notes. ALso fruity with grapes, apples, peach and pear. Very good malty flavor with fruits, vanilla, toffee and nuts. Great palate, strong but without too much alcohol coming through.
