4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Slightly unclear dark dark, light brown head. Aroma is mostly a lot of overripe and dried fruits (raisins, plums. figs). Taste is slightly alcoholic, a lot of overripe and dried fruits again. Portlike. Like a good quadrupel! Good full body and perfect carbonation.

2.5 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 10/20
Exploded from the bottle. Was initially very lively but this quickly dissapated. Nice deep red colour although a bit hazy and with residue at the bottom. Aroma was a bit red-wine or port-like. Taste was fruity and toffee and a bit of malt. Too sweet & portey for me.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
0.75l bottle from Etre. Oh no! Yeah, it’s a gusher! Just missed the remote and the phone. In the glass it has a big dirty lacing head. You know the head that looks like foam on a beach? Not very appealing, and the body is deep dark ruby brown in color with lots and lots of big dark sediments. The first impression is that it smells like food. Spicy food with herbs. Oh, yeah. The gushing wasn’t finished no. Left the room for a second and even if I filled my glass + quite a good amount on the floor, it still wants out this! Meaty aroma with shallots an dark candied sugar. Sweet frosty cola also. I kinda like this. The flavor is quite good. Definitely on the sweet side of the scale. Oily on the mouthfeel with a average+ carbonation level. Not to much reminding me of a triple in the taste though! Lots of dark candied sugar, dark caramel, fruits, blue sweet plum and a earthy nutty bitterness in the finish. Not even a hint of the 10% ABV. Tasty, but no tripel. 15.03.2013

BBE 05/2013 - Pours dark brown with a massive foamy head. Aroma of ripe fruits, plum, malts and sugary notes. Taste is malty, sweetish and yeasty with notes of ripe fruits and plum. Finish is sweet and malty with some ripe fruitness. Okay, quite tasty Belgian Strong Ale.

Hälls upp fint och doftar kalasbra, men den var lite väl söt och lite av en besvikelse. Jag trodde jag skulle känna mig som en grym kung och inte saftochbull kejsare.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Refrigerated 11.2 oz. brown bottle best before 4/15/12 (almost a year past prime). Pours muddy brown with little head which dissapates quickly. Little lacing, medium body, well carbonated, and sweet dark fruit aroma. Taste is dark candy sugar, dark fruit (mostly fig with some date). One of best dark belgian ales I have had and it was a touch past prime.
