(11.2oz bottle from Whip-in with Ana P at home on June 26, 2008) Pours a malty orange/brown color, very carbonated at first, into a small snifter. Head active, but dissipates, leaving no lacing. Aroma is light, spice/caramel, maybe toffee/molasses. Burnt sugar, etc. Taste is sweet and salty on the tip of the tongue. My mouth is still watering from the saltiness... it’s almost astringent. Palate is dry, with a sweet alcoholic cloud lingering at the back of the tongue for a while after the brew goes down. Alcohol noticeable, but well accompanied by the malty tripel-ness. A great tripel!

33cl Bottle from De Hopduvel, Gent. Dark brown colour, light-beige head. Aroma of cocoa, dark fruits, medium-sweet, yeast, all a bit muted. Flavour is cocoa, burnt caramel, dark fruits, dark malts, light bitter finish with a bit of yeast. Medium-bodied, light alcoholic. Expected a lot more from this beer.

From a bottle at the mark dine and tap in sour bend IN. Labeled best before 2010. Pours an opaque brown with a thin off white head. Nutty aroma with some hints of sour cherries. Flavors of tart cherry , some caramel sweetness and a hint of toffee. Complex and very tasty.

Bottle. Bit hazy amber-red colour. Aroma is a bit sour with dark malt and bread. Nice toasted maltiness, good caramel sweetness with a mild sourness, spices and some dark fruits in the flavour.

Slightly unclear dark dark, light brown head. Aroma is mostly a lot of overripe and dried fruits (raisins, plums. figs). Taste is slightly alcoholic, a lot of overripe and dried fruits again. Portlike. Like a good quadrupel! Good full body and perfect carbonation.

Exploded from the bottle. Was initially very lively but this quickly dissapated. Nice deep red colour although a bit hazy and with residue at the bottom. Aroma was a bit red-wine or port-like. Taste was fruity and toffee and a bit of malt. Too sweet & portey for me.

Beautiful deep red/amber color, with fine but no persistent head, aroma is sweet, with caramel malt notes, the taste is sweet with soft roasted and light coffee notes in final, full and heavy body with true carbonation, good digestive beer
