2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
In short: A sweet, very fruity (ripe fruits) strong blonde ale with a few problems. No thanks
How: Bottle 750ml. Consumed (fresh?) a few weeks after purchase
The look: Partly cloudy golden-blonde body topped by a short-lived medium white head.
In long: Nose of honey and canned fruits, pears mainly. Taste is dominated by extra-ripe fruits (ripe pears, ripe apples, ripe bananas, more…), wet white bread and honey. I also noted cabbage, boiled eggs and other off flavours. Overall very sweet, way too sweet. Some spicy hops providing a minimal contribution. Body is oily with an aggressive carbonation. Pretty bad at first but this is the kind of bad the taste buds get used to and at the end it is somewhat drinkable, but not good by any means. Lame. I don’t know how this little brewery can think that this is an acceptable Triple. All you need to be feel successful is ignorance and a lot of self-confidence.

Bottle in the house. A touch gassy but very nice, much better than I expected. A strong one though.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
2009-01-13. Dark yellow body with a modest white head. 3+ Aroma of light alcohol, tangy fruit. 6+ Flavour is similar, alcohol, dry overall, mild pale malts. Average palate. Okay, pretty simplistic triple, alcohol is the dominant characteristic. Bottle shared by Blankboy.

3.1 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Thanks to Blankboy. Appearance: Light yellow with a small white head. Aroma: Alcohol, hay, vanilla, a little floral-ness to it too. Average. Flavour: Tangy floral, alcohol, sticky mouthfeel with a bitter alcohol finish. Not for me.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle ( 750ml ). Shared by blankboy with me, garthicus, gregclow, jerc and mabel. Hazy gold pour with tons of floaties, large lasting fluffy white head - nice lace remnants. Aroma of alcohol, sweet apple, pear, yeast and light dry spice. Taste follows, a bit dry and papery, the alcohol comes through stronger, less fruit, my dry yeast/spice. Average body, dry, slightly astringent, mildly carbonated, with a boozy dry yeast finish. Nothing wrong with it, but underwhelming.

3.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
4/12 0.5 l Heavy ceramic corked bottle with short cork that pops out strongly on the middle of unscrewing the cage, obviously typical for this region... Bought in Casino store, Monaco. It poured hazy orange to golden body with big head. Fine yeasty and orange aroma. Bitter, yeasty and alcoholic flavor. Pretty simple and crude, with honey, biscuit and some orange inside. Medium bodied with longer bittersweet and warming finish. Not particularly good tripel, but characteristics of the style are present.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
A decent strong blond beer from the SAQ, recent. Malty sweet aroma, than more yeasty later in the bottle. Yellow body with rising carbonation noticed, white head and lacy. The mouthfeel is soft, and then offset somewhat by the carnbonation. Not a Belgian triple.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Lovely 0.5l bottle like on the picture, found at the Carrefour on Boulevart Alfred I, Monaco. Poured a murky darker orange/ochre body with a big white head that went away slowly. Slightly sourish orangey/dusty nose. The taste is yeasty, maybe too yeasty, sweetish, some maltiness, notes of eggs, light notes of carrots. Empty. Light acidic notes, no alcohol. Eh. Not my type of tripel.

On tap at Biere Mondiale 2009, Strasbourg. Pours a hazy yellow with a white head. Sweet and slightly fruity. Hints of Belgian yeast and honey. Very clean and balanced. Medium to full bodied. Sweet finish with lots of honey. Good.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
