Aroma is sweetish, fruity, bit spicy, malts. Clear-hazy, golden coloured with a white lasting head. Taste is sweet, little herbal/floral, some hops, some fruit and spices. Some bitterness. Balance okay, brew okay, but not very special.

Warning! Early amateur rating! In the ’Monastic Tradition’ mmmm! Pleasant full bodied beer. Malty with a little of that Belgian strong ale tang. Not bad.

Pours a gold to orange clear color, with a very thin white head that almost desapeaed. Aromas are strong malts and lots of vanilla. Flavors are malty and orange, with a bitter sweet finish. An OK beer but nothing special.

A brown sugar and raison sweet fizzy oatmeal beer. Slight lactic flavours, slight band-aid flavours. A bit lagerish. Like a dark strong sweet lager with lactic notes. Brings up the wind quite nicely. Says "Brewed in Belgium", but also gives the brewery address of Saint-Omer in France.

Invitingly fruity orange-peel aroma evocative of Leffe Blonde. Still transparency and spicy white foam. Packaging and watery amber body made me suspect this was a Spanish imitation, but it’s actually an aromatically half-tasty Belgian. Fragrant clove and orange predominate, with the merest hint of hoppy dryness rounding things off. But it’s mostly fruity sweetness. Poor man’s Leffe, but a pleasant enough Abbey all the same. Interesting to see licorice as a listed ingredient.

Not extraordinary - except for low price, as it’s only available from the Aldi discount chain. So great price/quality ratio, hence high overall.

I got a 6 pack of these for £2:99 so not bad. Aroma is lagerish with a sweetness which makes it more axceptable. Taste is also lagerish with a light sweetness to and maybe a little more yeast that your usual lager. Not a bad beer by any means but nothing worth writting home about. Price is a winner.

Good golden colour head thin but leaves good lace. Feel its trying to a Leffe, but fails, on the light side both on the nose and on the palate, finish is very short...a disappointing brew I’m afraid.

UPDATED: FEB 17, 2006 Golden brown with a medium sized head. Slight metallic taste which distracted from an otherwiswe pleasant drink.

I drank this beer in Spain. Clear golden color, medium white head. Aroma and taste reminded me of Leffe Blonde. Bit spicy and sweet, bit flowery. Not as sweet as the Floreffe Blonde. Decent brew, but nothing special.
