Aroma was chocolate and roasted malts, but it was very low intensity. Deep black with a firm thumb thick mocha head. Fore is roasty chocolate malts and a touch of coffee, but scant else. Everyone raved about this beer at the fests and I thought it was pretty dang flavorless and watery tasting. Lacked any real flavor intensity.
presario (2497), Calgary, Alberta, Canada Sep 12, 2008 On tap at Abbey. Thic lasting head. Black. weird sour spice perfume aroma with coffee underneath. Dominant anise seed flavour. BrewDad (1711), Olympia, Washington, USA May 25, 2008 Pint - Abbey Brewing - Miami Beach, Fl

Aroma – Deep rich malt nose. You can smell the high alcohol from this beer.
Appearance – Dark brown in color, Nice thin head and clear.
Flavor – Rich Chocolate and coffee flavors mixed with the dark roasty malts.
Palate – Good Mouthfeel, nice texture with a great stout finish.
Overall – I liked this stout it was very flavorful and filled with great spices and malts.
Oakes (7030), Miami Beach, Florida, USA May 9, 2008 Very dark brown. Peachy, hoppy aroma with coffeeish undertone. Sort of a thin body, with a deep burnt fruit character. Some coffeeish, nutty notes mid-palate, followed by a splash of alcohol in the finish. Has a thickness of body that lends a pleasing creaminess. daknole (1122), Plantation, Florida, USA May 6, 2008 Quite a unique imperial stout. Very good. Matly, chocolate, and delicious. Not as thick as some, but delicious. Tmoney99 (3740), Cincinnati, Ohio, USA Apr 12, 2008 Draft at brewpub. Poured a black color with an average creamy light brown head that mostly lasted and produced fair lacing. Medium roasted sweet coffee aroma. Medium to full body with a smooth texture. Good complex roasted flavor with a medium sweet finish of moderate duration. Good brew.
