Miami Beach, Florida. Very black. Rich chocolate aroma. Very full bodied with loads of toasty malt, still the mouthfeel is gentle and soft. There’s notes of figs and a wealth of licorice in the finish. Powerful, yet refined. Oakes (7030), Miami Beach, Florida, USA May 9, 2008 Very dark brown. Peachy, hoppy aroma with coffeeish undertone. Sort of a thin body, with a deep burnt fruit character. Some coffeeish, nutty notes mid-palate, followed by a splash of alcohol in the finish. Has a thickness of body that lends a pleasing creaminess. hopscotch (4678), Vero Beach, Florida, USA Mar 15, 2007 Draft... This beer rocks!... Pitch black ale with a small, creamy, khaki head. Excellent retention. The aroma provides hearty notes of chocolate, molasses and alcohol. Burnt, bitter-sweet flavor with heaps of chocolate, molasses and prune. Full-bodied and creamy with moderate carbonation. Bitter-sweet, burnt finish. World class brew! MartinT (4458), Montreal, Quebec, Canada Mar 13, 2007 My Bottom Line:
Grapey fruitiness and roasting molasses combine in a very healthy mouthfeel. This Imperial Stout is humble and drinkable and might please your dark malt desires.

Further Personal Perceptions:
-The fruity, vinous nose boasts some roastiness too.
-A veil of foam tops the opaque black.
-All of their beers that day were quite fruity.
-The roasty finish does benefit from some supporting hop bitterness.
-Abv is well-hidden, which makes this beer quite drinkable for its size.
-The surrounding cigar smoke in this tiny bar fits with this imperial stout quite well.
