omhper (10731), Stockholm, Sweden Aug 22, 2005 Draught at Abbey Brewing Company
Miami Beach, Florida. Pale amber. Fruity apricot and melon aroma. Dry with clean mouthfeel and medium body. An odd, dusty near smokey flavour disturbs the grapefruity hops. Long. salty, bitter finish. Oakes (6979), Miami Beach, Florida, USA Apr 29, 2008 Brick amber colour. Has a tropical fruit hoppiness in the nose with a light toasty malt character. Blueberry and cantaloupe taste with moderate bitterness and a malt character mixing caramel and toastiness. hopscotch (4595), Vero Beach, Florida, USA Mar 15, 2007 Draft... Clear golden ale with a small, fizzy, white head. The aroma is of toffee, subtle grapefruit and mild evergreen. The flavor offers sweet toffee and biscuit with light grapefruit bitterness. Medium to full-bodied and creamy with stinging carbonation. Bitter-sweet, grassy finish. A good English IPA confused by PNW hopping. MartinT (4377), Montreal, Quebec, Canada Mar 13, 2007 My Bottom Line:
Sweet orangey hops are cleanly dissipated into a timid, grainy finish in this surprisingly feeble American IPA.
Further Personal Perceptions:
-A quasi-absent nose for an American IPA is more than disappointing.
-A ring of foam surrounds the light amber.
-Some resinous hops remain approachable.
-There is a much better American IPA example at Titanic Brewing, near the University of Miami.
-After reading other ratings, I wonder if this beer varies considerably from batch to batch.
