2.2 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20 musinj6 (74) - St. Louis, Missouri, USA - FEB 7, 2012
Pours a murky golden with very small head that leaves no lacing and quickly dissipates. Bready malt aroma with resinous hops accompanying a sharp bitterness up front that isn’t entirely pleasant. Medium bodied. Sticky on the palate with moderate carbonation. Long finish with astringent bitterness that lingers. I cannot say I like this beer a great deal. Perhaps I got a bad bottle.

Nice and crisp Belgian style with hints of spice and citrus. A bit yeasty with a nice clean finish.

A beer should really be better than this if it’s going to so blatantly invite comparison to beer brewed by actual Belgian monks. Certainly not bad but nothing special.
3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20 taphandle (985) - Texas, USA - DEC 4, 2011
Goldish brown, good head. Spice and citrus aroma. Taste has some caramel and a bit of spice - not overpowering. Finish is more caramel and malt.. Not a ton of Belgian flavor, but it’s still good.

Aroma of floral and bread. Pours amber with a small head. Tastes of floral, champagne, and yeast. Great Belgian.

12oz bottle pours pale murky copper with near white head. The modest aroma seems to be exclusively spicy Belgian like yeast and a touch of light skinned fruity esters. The taste is similar with Belgian yeast spices running up and down and ringed by ribbons of tart to slightly sour wild tart yeast. To midway it starts to pick up fruity esters such as near ripe peach and a touch of sweet green apple. Easy drinking brew and the touch of tartness creates a refreshing sensation too.
2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 dionysian_son (210) - Colorado, USA - NOV 30, 2011
Pours amber/bronze with some opacity, Thick and bready head with a nose that is notable for slight citrus and dough. On the tongue sour, bland malty, and yeasty finish with subtle fruit ester and coriander. Decent, but a ways to go to match Belgium.
3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 notalush (3616) - Denver, Colorado, USA - NOV 12, 2011
Cloudy straw color - fluffy head/lace - nose is lightly floral, yeasty, a bit of tropical sweetness - medium bodied and lightly yeasty - flavor is lightly acidic/tangy, with slight wheat, yeast, pineapple, lemon - very light phenols - finishes with a lightly herbal character - quite light, and lacking the complexity I typically like in Belgian ales, but it is fairly refreshing.
