Pours amber/bronze with some opacity, Thick and bready head with a nose that is notable for slight citrus and dough. On the tongue sour, bland malty, and yeasty finish with subtle fruit ester and coriander. Decent, but a ways to go to match Belgium.

Beerenberger (181) - Fischer, Texas, USA - APR 17, 2012
Pours a clear copper color with a short-lived off-white head. The aroma is Belgium yeast with notes of honey. The taste, like the aroma, is Belgian yeast and honey. The mouthfeel is medium with some effervescence present. While enjoyable probably won't buy again. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

12oz bottle from Mora2000, thanks Bill! Pours a crystal clear orange-gold colored body with a finger-width, frothy, beige head that dissipates quickly and leaves a moderate lacing throughout. Aroma is bigger pale malts with a grainy sweetness and a touch of caramel. A light grassy citrus, yeasty spice, and a touch of banana-clove. Flavor leans a tad bit more toward the yeast and grassy bitterness, but is still pale malt forward. Lots of cereal grains and a light sweetness to the pale malts up front along with a light bread and caramel. A soft banana-clove, apricot, and a light citrus-grass come in during the middle before a bit of a yeasty spice and the grass grow into the finish slightly to finish this off. Smooth, pale malty sweetness with a light, grassy, slightly citrusy and yeasty spice finish that mostly dries before leaving a medium length aftertaste where the yeast spice and clove flavor grows a bit more. Smooth, medium body and soft, moderately lively carbonation. Overall, not the most exciting Belgian at all, but not the worst. It has a balanced flavor throughout with a distinct grassy and yeasty spice, but the malts are quite bland and pale. Eh...

This poured a medium amber color with a white head. Aroma was spices, yeast, some prunes, and candy sugar. Flavor was much the same, the sweetness was kept to a low, but somewhat bland and uninviting.

Bottle. Pours a clear golden orange color. Moderate white head that dissipates to a thin ring with good lacing. Aroma is pale malt, some bubblegum, banana and mild alcohol. Flavor is grassy hops, light grain, light fruit and some mustiness. Medium mouthfeel and moderate burn in the finish. OK, but nothing great.

Amber, medium head. Nose smells of Belgian yeast, but fairly faint. Medium through the middle, slightly malty....never seems to finish the deal. Will not buy again.
