tronraner (1391), (Louis-, Sevier-, Knox-)ville, Tennessee, USA Oct 5, 2007 Draught at the brewpub. Pours bright orange-red with a small, ivory head. The aroma is caramel and toast with some graininess. The flavor is very caramelly with some prickly hay and carbonic tones. Toasty finish. Not bad. Sammy (3023), Toronto, Ontario, Canada May 6, 2007 Dark red with thin head. Medium mouthfeel of above-average carbonation. Some toast and malt, with hops in the finish. Nate (2212), Indiana, Pennsylvania, USA Mar 15, 2007 On tap at the brewery. Sweet malty aroma, light cherry notes and a bit of diacetyl. Fruity, juicy hops. Reddish amber clear with no head. Medium watery body with medium-heavy carbonation. Starts sweet with light brown sugar, fruity sweetness, red licorice. Nice tasty maltiness character throughout with dry nutty grain finish. Mild hops bitterness with neutral fruit in the afte. A very nice irish ale.
