On tap, at brewpub. Pours a flat black body with a small creamy brown nitro head. Roast and coffee nose with some chocolate and oats. Almost Hershey’s Syrup like. A lot of chocolate and oats on the flavor with some lingering coffee and burnt malt. A little too sweet overall for me. Medium bodied, a little clingy, with some sticky and clingy residual sugars. Can’t pinpoint it, but there’s a bit of an off-flavor late on the finish, it’s almost like a chemical note. A decent start, but this needs a bit of tweaking to be good.

Draft. Pours onyx with off-tan head. Nose is black patent malt, oats, hops, cacao. Tastes rich, with lots of patent malt, cacao, hops, and a semi-dry finish.
