Pours a deep amber reddish color. A small thick light tan foam. Dissipates quickly. Has a smoky woody oak nose with some burnt brown sugar. The flavor has a burnt oak as well with a ton of caramelized brown sugar. The oak comes through so well, but it isn’t overpowering. I definitely get a malty bourbon feel about it. The body is pretty solid as well. Delicious.

Jul 20, 2008 pours very dark brown with a tan head. aroma is smokey with some bacon and tobacco notes. flavor is similar slightly roasty with some tobacco, malty, oaky, without one of the flavors overpowering the others. medium-heavy body, drinks bigger than 5.8%. another interesting abbey wright beer.
