Cask (gravity dispense) at the Bricklayers Arms Yorkshire beer festival, February 2009. Pale gold. Definitely has that herbaceous gooseberry leaf Sauvignon Blanc aroma. Zesty citrus in the flavour with more gooseberry leaf. Mouthfeel a touch thin but quite tasty.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Cask at Bricklayers Arms Yorskhire Festival 09. Pale gold, lasting bubbly white head. Supposed to be sauvignon blanc-y and it is. Nelson Sauvin hops? Getting towards the end of the barrel, so little condition, but the mango/passionfruit is unmistakeable. In top condition, this would be fantastic, rich tropical fruits and drying tangy hop. Just lacks condition.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
Cask at Bricklayers Arms Yorskhire Festival, 27th February 2009. Pure yellow colouration. Aroma is 100% fresh hop. Frankly, itís like chopping a fresh grapefruit in half and then rubbing it all over your face. Fantastic. This is a great, great tasting golden ale. The kind of beer that makes you go back for another the moment you finish the glass.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Gravity, Merton Winter Beer Festival. Very pale gold, small frothy translucent white head. Cinnamon and fruity musk aroma. Grape skin flavor, rather dry, pepper and cinnamon spice, lingering tannic finish. Pleasant, refreshing, solid, though I agree with Fin--the aroma promised a bit more than the flavor delivered.

3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Cask, gravity at Merton Winter Beer Festival Feb 08 Very light in colour in fact straw coloured I would say stunningly clear and with a lovely white bubbly head, so far so good. The citrus (grapefruit?) are there from the start as are some lovely floral notes, so great looking good, great aroma, but you know the taste is a slight disappointment, donít get me wrong there is absolutely nothing wrong with this beer far from it but I thought it would be far better than it was. Starts with a good, fresh, sweet floralness and has a nice hoppy back bite itís tasty, itís a lovely session beer, and maybe itís just a bit more subtle than I expected but the aroma and appearance promised so much more, still hatís off to Abbeydale for a very good beer.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Cask conditioned at Merton Winter Beer Festival í08. Pale gold with white head. Big flowery and citrusy flavours on a fairly thin and light base. Lots of drying grapefruit notes, tangy and adding to the bitterness with an overlaid flowery sweetness, I didnít initially get this as elderflower but once it was pointed out then yes it is very apparant. A very tidy beer.
