COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Cask; Occasional.
Much loved beer in the Birmingham area for some reason. We are often asked to brew this by a wholesaler who distributes iin that area. Eventually he manages to get one the brewers sufficiently drunk to agree to his demands. He succeeded in early 2007 which is why the beer made a brief appearance in February 2007.

Cask, Criterion, Leicester. Golden with an off-white head. Aromas are lychee, gooseberry and melon with caramel and light woody notes. Clean, leafy and spicy with lots of biscuit and some white grape juice. Flavours are sweet caramel and mixed tropical fruit with grape juice. Lightly floral and spicy with a dry finish. A good clean, hoppy brew.

Cask-conditioned at the Three Tuns, Bristol 15/11/2011. Pale gold with a slight white head. Gooseberry and tropical fruit aroma with some biscuity sweetness. Flavour had more, slightly creamy malts, a slab of tropical fruit and hoppy dry finish. Dangerously drinkable.

Cask, The Swan and Rushes, Leicester. Can’t move for Abbeydale and eggchasers in Leicester tonight. I’m not complaining....well, only about the eggchasers anyway. Brilliant still gold, trace of halo. Very appealing Chardonnay, white grape, fine-haired hop greenery aroma. Excellent fresh tang of hop implying grapefruit, passion fruit, grape, celery even, rounded with Rich Tea malt and honey. Just a trace of almond- no idea what strength this is (shit, just checked on RB- been throwing it down like sardine-beater). Could drink this until it came out of my ears. Very hoppy, savoury, balanced brew with the alcohol dangerously buried by hop fruit and bitterness. Pick of this evening’s Abbeydale hatrick.

Cask Handpump at the Bhurtpore Inn, Aston 25/03/2007 Hoppy and floral aromas. Clear golden coloured hoppy and slightly citrus flavour. Strong in alcohol. Some dryness in a crisp and bitter finish.

Hand pulled at Out of the Vaults, Leicester. Golden, thin looking. Fresh nettle and mint aroma. Nice fresh, herby hops. Pretty quiet, not too aggressve, but with a small burst of sweetness to finish. Faintly medicinal, but light and spring water like. A nice, balanced beer, profcient, but I don’t love it as much as some things, but it’s another quality product from Abbeydale.
