COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Cask; Regular.
Finest quality pale malt carrying choicest west coast American hops to create a beautifully balanced pale ale. The aroma is fragrant, fruity. The flavours are mellow with hints of bubblegum and refreshing grapefruit. The finish is bittersweet, without being cloying.
This is consistently Abbeydale Brewery's biggest selling beer.
First brewed in 1996 it was designed as a premium pale bitter to show drinkers of a very big and old-established brewery's offering just what a beer could taste like... After a bit of name-calling and throwing of stones, it had no trouble in establishing a reputation as the genuine Sheffield Gold Beer. It is now available as a "regular" beer at a number of outlets in and around Sheffield.

Cask by handpump at Drum & Monkey, Glasgow - clear pale golden, flowery hop, creamy malty nuttiness with subtle but effective meadow hop finish, very easy to drink

Very pale yellow with a thin but lasting head, very little aroma but a good slightly sweet citrus hop taste, I had to have four of them to be sure it was good.

Pint pulled at The Monsal at Monsel Heads (Peak District), a milky white that settles to a pale amber with a creamy head. A very floral aroma with hints if plums (and slightly buttery). Very very smooth, though a little sour in the aftertaste, hints of apricots maybe.

Cask Conditioned. A pale amber clear beer with chunky head. A golden bitter with flavour, fruity hops and balancing sweet malt giving a tasty dry beer. Eminently drinkable.

Cask at The Devonshire Cat, Sheffield, ’The Peoples Republic of South Yorkshire’ on the Valley of Beer Day 16-08-08 Poured straw coloured, with white head the appearance was quite immaculate, stunning clarity. This is an easy drinking session beer some boiled sweets along with some citrus, very nice beer.

Cask at the Raglan Arms, Rugby - 19/09/12. Clear pale blonde with a good sized white head. Pale malts on the nose allied to grapefruit and a little piss. Citrus fruits, grapefruit and bitter sweet tones combine together in the flavour of this beer. Medium bodied with a bit of bite, moderate carbonation lending to a bitter sweet finish.

Draft 281107. Fresh hoppy nose. Pours pale gold with a fluffy white head. The flavour is rich and fruity with some citrus and leads into a long hoppy finish. A great beer, and a worthy one for my 600th rating.
