Cask at the Globe. An earthy aroma with pine is a feature of this porter whose rewarding flavour is dry and seductively bitter with a long finish on the back of the tongue.

Cask at The New Oxford, Manchester. A hazy amber beer with a lazing beige head. The aroma has light notes of milk chocolate. The flavor is sweet with notes of malt, caramel, and milk chocolate, leading to a dry milk chocolaty finish.

Cask at The Waters Green Tavern in Macclesfield. Very dark brown with thin off white head, quite a pale head for a porter. Usual porter characteristics, coffee, malts and some smoked roastiness. Quite a bitter finish and does seem to have a hint of something medicinal in it that I didn’t like.

A Mes rate. Gravicask at London Drinker.
Mahogany black colour with a thin tan head. This is pretty good stuff. A tasty malty porter with some faint smoke and ash and a good hit of coffee. Good body, well balanced with a good level of hops and an excellent bitter and dry finish.

Cask conditioned - gravity dispense Wicksteed Park BF. A black porter with an off white loose head. A roasty slightly smoky aroma with a hint of lactose. Full flavoured with nice hops and good roasted malts. Again a little lactose. A nice, smooth, very tasty beer.

Cask, Rigby’s, Liverpool. Very dark brown colour with a thin off-white head. Caramel malt, dark chocolate aroma. Flavour quite strange, trace of tcp?! raisin, molasses, nuts in there too with some hoppage. Not really sold on this.
