Can in Singapore. Pours almost black with a thin tanned head. Aroma and flavour of burnt malt, caramel and sugar. Extremely sweet in the mouthfeel and in the finish. Maybe from the bottle this would improve?

Nice stout, one of my favs from Singapore. Pours black with tan head. Flavour of bitter roasted coffee, molasses, smoke and dark chocolate.
2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 Dredd (636) - Bentleigh, AUSTRALIA - JUL 6, 2009
Nice-ish aroma of coffee and chocolate with a slightly sulphur finish pours nicely with big mocha head. Flavour is a mix of slight mocha and coffee. Nice but nothing out of this world. Will recommend over most local singapore beers.
2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 Pyobon (728) - Sydney, AUSTRALIA - JUL 1, 2009
323ml can. Opaque black brown with thick tan head. Aroma of dark roast malt and coffee, maybe a hint of seaweed. Medium bodied with modest carbonation. Dark, almost burnt, roast malt flavour with definite coffee and maybe treacle. A distinctive bitter / burnt aftertaste. Not my favourite style of beer, but this one has a lot of character. (My can stated 7% ABV, not 8% as per the description)
3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 jgb9348 (3962) - Arlington (Pentagon City), Virginia, USA - MAR 19, 2009
Great deep dark brown body with a thinnish tan head and a muddy complexion. Aroma of deep roasted malt, strong nuts, oatmeal and a bit of sweet raw sugar. Medium-bodied; Strong roasty body with coffee (we are in this part of the world, aren’t we?), chocolate and a good nuttiness. Aftertaste shows sweetness, roasted nuts and a lot of good malt. Overall, a pretty damn good beer - better than the ones I had in Mainland China and well worth finding over Tiger! I sampled this 33 cL can purchased from 7-11 on Orchard Road in Singapore, Singapore on 20-August-2007.
2.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 mpersinger (311) - , California, USA - FEB 27, 2009
From can hand-carried from Camodia (thanks Brad). Pours murky ruddy with no head and distinct rubber cement aroma. Tastes like rubber cement and sherry with malty sweetness and alcohol burn. Gets prickly and oily on tongue.
3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 TerenceHua (87) - , SINGAPORE - FEB 26, 2009
UPDATED: MAR 27, 2009 An attractive looking sweet tasty fragrant stout. On the tongue, you can detect roasted malts and, shades of coco/coffee and fruits(?). Suprisingly of medium body for a stout. Not overly carbonated in a good sense. Makes for a good drinking experience. It can be vastly improved if it were creamier and smoother; as opposed to being very plainly palate friendly only. Value for money.

UPDATED: JUN 18, 2009 Can, enjoyed in the back seat of a car (road sodas are legal in Cambodia) so I didn’t get to pour, but brown in color, very malty, too sweet actually for me. But nice flavor of raisins and prune, toasted brown sugar, little bit of coffee....
Rerate 2/26 w/ mpersinger -- pours black with brown head, aroma of rubber cement, darkfruit, brown sugar, prune, minimal on the chocolate and coffee flavors. Good lingering hops bitterness, somewhat medicinal taste, not a great stout.
0.5 AROMA 1/10 APPEARANCE 1/5 TASTE 1/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 1/20 Xiem (2) - Phnom Penh, CAMBODIA - JAN 29, 2009 does not count
In Phnom Penh at least, it is twice the cost of Carlsberg rival Black Panther. Not worth the extra.
