Bottle. Golden with a large head that took time to dissipate, Not a lot of flavour. Call it subtle or bland, its up to you.

Clear dark brown color with a average to large, creamy to frothy, good lacing, fully lasting, light beige head. Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, roasted, caramel, chocolate malt, toffee - butterscotch. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet and light to moderate bitter with a average to long duration. Body is medium, texture is oily - creamy and smooth, carbonation is flat. [20100116]

Cask. Pours a hazy dark brown - almost black - with a tint of orange and a fine beige head. Buttery nose but also roasted malt and dried fruit. Light body, completely flat, some roasted malt and dried fruit. Dry finish with hardly any hops. 160110

Cask-conditioned at the Lamp, Birmingham 01/02/10. According to the pump clip this is now 3.6%. Dark brown with some red in the background and decent, off-white head. Aroma of chocolate, plums and a hint of coffee. Flavour of milk chocolate, dark fruits and a roasty dry finish. Easy drinking and very enjoyable.

Cask conditioned - handpump - Wellington Birmingham A mahogany coloured beer with a thin off-white head. The aroma is nice and malty with fruit, nuts and bread. The taste is more of the same. A bit old aleish in character. Nicely malty and well brewed.
