Bottle from Aldi. Blond colour, white foam disappears quickly. Iron, banana, sweet malts. Strange bitterness. Not balanced, not good.

The beer has a nice look. The beer has a tiny rough almond colored foam. The foam collapses quickly and leaves almost no trace. The beer has a light brown color, a little orange. I wouldn’t call it amber though. The beer is very clear. The smell is nice and sweet, very fruity. I smell banana, and some citrus. I also smell a almondy alcohol aroma. The smell is very soft and delicate. It has a nice sour touch to it. The taste is also nice. It has the same banana flavor as the smell. The taste is the same as the smell anyway. Sweet, a fresh amount of sour and a alcohol flavor. The finish has a little hint of metal, this is a shame. Besides this, there is nothing to complain.

33cl bottle. Clear copper colour with a nice white head. Fruit, banana and yeast in the aroma. Average carbonation and medium body. Taste is more on the sweet side. Overall, quite drinkable but not remarkable but not expensive either.

Aroma: Fruity, banana. Light alcohol, spicy. Medium-high sweetness. Appearance: Clear light-amber body. Head: Medium, white, good retention. Lacing. Flavour: Medium-high fruitiness. Medium-light alcoholic, pepper. light bready. Dry finish. Mouthfeel: light warming. medium-full body. medium-high carbonation. Overall: Nice. The lighter alcohol makes for an "easy" drinking beer, but still not a lawnmower beer by any means. 330 ml bottle, poured. Thanks Andre!

Alengrin (4529) - BELGIUM - JUL 15, 2014
Abbey beer brewed for the German low-budget supermarket chain Aldi, originally by Riva, now by Haacht. Creamy white, medium thick head, golden blond colour; aroma straightforward, malty sweetish, honey, apple, pineapple, apricot, hint of vanilla, floral hops; taste equally straightforward (not to say simple), dominated by a sweetish, bit honeyish maltiness and rather weak, insufficient hop bitterishness in the finish.
