Jerre (1255), Waregem, Belgium May 29, 2008 Bottle, 33 cl. Sunday @ Tony’s.
Brown color, with off-white to beige head.
Aroma malts, some caramel.
Medium body.
Taste bit light roasted malts, sweet, caramel, chocolate, low hops. Beer_2000 (1114), Kristiansand, Norway Mar 24, 2008 330ml bottle. Nice reddish brown body with a big beige head. Aroma is caramel, malt and brown sugar. Flavor is sweet, caramel malt, a bit roasted and somehow a bit fruity as well. A rather light body, but not thin makes this very quaffable and not unbalanced. A supermarket version of a dubbel abey to a ridiculous low price at Aldi in Belgium makes this a surprisingly positive experience. A great alternative for the skinflint abbey consumer. hopdog (4341), Lansdale, Pennsylvania, USA Jan 11, 2008 33cl bottle. Poured a medium and cloudy brown color with a larger sized off white head. Aromas of some dark fruits, smoke, roast, and spices. Tastes of dark fruits, caramel, and lighter spices. Enjoyit (1068), Vadum, Denmark May 7, 2007 Amber of color with a beige head. An aroma with notes of cloves, syrup and caramel. A nice flavor of cloves, syrup, hops and malt. MiP (4643), Flensburg, Germany Apr 15, 2007 Bottle, 6%. Clear brown colour, small head. Slightly roasted flavour with a little brown sugar. Not too interesting, but OK.
