dark brown colour with no head (looks like cola) slightly sweet (possibly boiled fruit sweets) aroma, sweet caramel but slightly bitter taste. Not as bad as it sounds.

I’m a big fan of abbey dubbels, so I’m doubly disappointed in this beer. It doesn’t live up to expectations.

Clear brown coloured ber with smal white head no carbonation visible. A malty fruity aroma with some roasted touches. Full slightly creamy and sparkling palate. Finish is malty bit sweet with a bit bitter ending. (@WE - 29/01/11)

Way to simple and to much water to get a nice taste. It’s drinkable, but that’s it, in my opinion.

33 cL bottle. Pours dark brown with a slowly collapsing tan head. Roasted malt, yeast and slight metallic aroma. Overripe fruity flavoured, nice roasted malt base and distinct yeasty spiced note. Smooth roasted malt and fruity flavoured into the finish.

Bottle, 33 cl from Aldi. Dark brown bear with a non lacing light brown-beige head, a bit fizzling in the beginning. The smell is allright: and very well balanced: barley and malt in the beginning, light candy sugar smell and some notes of yeast also. The taste is the one of barley and malt also. It is medium sweet with some light bitter aftertaste. But the taste is overall a bit uninteresting and lacks strength. Not bad at all, but also nothing special, but I also didn’t expect that from such a cheap abbey beer from the Aldi.

Sampled at GBF09 Dark amber with a large, off-white head. Sweetish aroma with wooden notes. Yeasty and slightly vinous. Woody flavour with some sweet fruitiness.
