Cask, handpump at The Bell & Crown, Canterbury, Kent 16th July 2011 in company of Ian Harrisoni Looks excellent, filmy head, sticky bubbling white head, superb clarity, middling hoppiness, tangy, tasty beer, zippy bitterness, some tart fruit skins. Most enjoyable. A7 A4 T7 P4 Ov14 3.6

Cask at the Locomotive, Ashford. Golden amber with a thin white head; a good, solid, bitter with an aroma of malt and Kentish hops; then a biscuity malt flavour with gentle but sustained earthy hops in support; leading to a fruity hop finish.

Cask at Prince Albert, Dover. Pours a slightly hazy gold with a small lasting frothy white head and good lacing. Pleasant grassy hop aroma along with some grain and biscuity malt. Flavour follows the aroma with grassy hops, grain and biscuity malt
Average bodied. Enjoyable, I liked it.

Cask (gravity dispense) at Egham Beer Festival on 21 April 2011. First beer of the festival. And, to be honest, the first beer I’d had for a week or more that wasn’t heavily hopped with pungent, aromatic hops. So perhaps it is understandable, and a little unfair, that this came over as a little unexciting; a fairly standard amber bitter in a distinctly traditional mould. Some earthy British hops and an underlying dry, biscuity malt character. Clean and moderately bitter. Fairly robust mouthfeel. Does what it does perfectly competently. Solid if unspectacular.

9 pint mini keg of bright beer bought straight from the brewery, racked the day before. Well I have to admit I want to like this beer as this is now my local brewery and I really like the owner/brewer. And I do like it. There had been a number of test brews and this is by far the best and is what has been released to a number of outlets in East Kent. Clear copper orange colour with lasting off white head. Lovely EKG aroma with some biscuit malt too. Reminds me of the Gadds Number 7 bitter due to the EKG and biscuit malts. Perfectly firm in the mouth with some decent malts. Great finish with biscuit, some juicy fruits and then more hops. Moderate bitterness last and in fact grows. I love the bisuit and hop mix. Good drinking bitter..
