4.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 19/20
Very suprised to have this. Not bad at all. In fact, pretty damn good. Classic pilsner and actually on the hoppy side. The malt is fruity and delicate, with a nice dose of hops to clean it up. Very well balanced and suited for refreshment. I don’t usually expect such good beer from Abita.

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Well, thanks to a mix-up at the beer store this one 12oz bottle cost me $6.99 plus tax, so it damn well better be good. Crystal clear pale straw color is nothing special to look at as it streams large eff below a medium sixed white head of mostly lasting foam. Aroma is strikingly hoppy but not at all pilsener-like as it’s floral/citrus character is overpowering the very slight lightly toasted white bread malts. Nevertheless, it’s a nice aroma because hops smell good. The flavor is in line with the aromas, mostly biting hops without much backbone. There is a soft malt sweetness that comes through towards the end which compliments the floral bouquet. It is quite dry, and beer manager Bob suggested it would be, and as such it is nicely refreshing even if it is a bit heavy-handed with the carbonation. Overall a drinkable quaff that would be a great quencher to keep handy for summertime guests, but it will not be replacing my standards from Sly Fox, Victory, and Bitburger.

Fresh clean taste, golden in color with a bright white head. Wonderful crisp finish and nice aroma. Hops are definetley present but in just the right amount to make this very balanced brew. Great offering and a real good value.

2.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 8/20
UPDATED: AUG 27, 2007 Sampled from a 12 oz brown bottle this beer poured a clear pale golden color with a small white head. The aroma is sweet, tangy and pleasant. The flavor is sour and tangy with a hint of light roasty malts and a sour tangy finish. There is a hint of pepper.

(Best by 11/24/2006) Typically Abita’s beer are lackluster, but this pils is the real deal. The beer has nice crisp malt backbone that is smoothed out with the right amount of bittering and finishing hops. This is a must try for lager lovers.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Fruity aroma that leaves you wanting more. Smooth taste that covers the palate with strong, bitter sensations. Citrusy grapefruit taste that fades into a light head in the mouth. Strong initial bite that fades with the citrus. An IPA if it followed through, but it falls on its face and becomes a Pilsner that gives you gas. Nothing more.

3.7 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Decent sized bright white head of fine bubbles. Light carbonation. Great hoppy aroma. Bubblegum, spruce, and flowers all mixed in there. Also a hint of cheddar cheese. Color is a bright clear gold. Dry hoppy flavor. Little bit of bready malts for body, some lemon and more flowers. Very crisp flavor. Finish is hoppy and floral again with a dry bitterness. Pilsners are usually not very high on my list of brews but this is a damn good one. Thanks to Magjayran for this gem.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
21oz. bottle. Translucent golden color with a medium sized rocky white head. Citric and floral hop aromatics with mild graininess. Citric metallic Cascade family hop flavors assert dominance over a muted clean malt profile with tinges of huskiness and DMS. Residual hop flavor in the finish, with a coarse bitterness and mild astringency. Mouthfeel is rather light, very crisp and dry.
