COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Turbodog is the inspiration for this robust dark ale. It is brewed with generous amounts of pale, caramel, and chocolate malts and Willamette hops. Whole natural vanilla beans are added during the aging process. This combination provides a rich body and color with chocolate, vanilla and toffee-like flavor.

25 years ago Abita Brewing was founded on a pristine artesian aquifer north of New Orleans. For a quarter of a century, Abita has proudly brewed full-flavored ales and lagers. We thank our loyal customers for their support and pledge to continue the tradition of brewing excellence.

Pours a dark mahogany brown color with a small head. Nose is more chocolate and malt, but mild. Taste more like a sweet brown ale, as it warms, becomes sweeter with the vanilla punching through. Drinkable but not packed with flavor by any means. Quaff Score 6 / 10

Pours brown with a beige head and sweet vanilla, roasted malt aroma. Taste is sweet as well, with vanilla that comes through more as beer sits, with chocolate, roasted malt, and caramel and a sweet, roasty finish. Drinkable solid ale

Dark brown-amber pour with a tan head. The aroma has a lot of toffee, chocolate and vanilla notes. The flavor is more of the same with some toffee, grass, earth, cocoa and vanilla. Medium mouthfeel and medium carbonation.

Better than expected for a strong ale. metal aroma. vanilla makes this a little fruity in nature. much better than expected. actually quite like able. more refine than anticipates. I can appreciate this stuff. Not over the top for a vanilla beer. well done.

Poured from 22oz bomber into a snifter with a nice 2 in mocha colored head that subsided rather quickly. The beer is a rather dark brown and there appears to be yeast sediment (bottled conditioned beer?) Aroma was a bit of vanilla and caramel but not too strong. Mouth feel is pretty thin, this has been slightly oxidized it seems. Taste is good Nice roasted malt flavor with some chocolate flavor and vanilla undertone, not too sweet. Overall a tasty beer but nothing to write home about. It works good as a dessert beer

Bottle:   Deep cola, moderate to large foamy tannish head, nice lacing.   Strong sweet honeycomb biscuity malt aroma, with a bit of honeysuckle and vanilla.   Really biscuity on the tongue, lots of honeycomb like cereal, slight vanilla.   Seems pretty sweet, thankfully while not being sticky.   Body and mouthfeel remains moderate.   Strong honeycomb biscuity malt finish.   I am kinda surprised I finished this whole 22oz bottle.   Its at that line where you aren’t sure if you can drink any more because its sweet with lots of that honeycomb cereal like flavor, but luckily its not sticky.   Tiz okay, but could use a little hops to balance it out a bit.

Pours dark with beige head. Not much aroma. A weak chocolate taste that quickly dissipated from the palate. Probably will not buy this again.

Very sweet but smooth taste. Certainly drink again. It was a dark ale but tasted sweeter than it looked. Naturally with vanilla in it

650ml bottle. Pours a clear, and VERY dark brown with a beige head. Aroma is kind of tainted by a sort of rotten fruit smell, with some molasses, dark malt, dried fruits, and something that makes me think corn snacks. The taste isn’t much better. Cocoa with dark malt notes, faint sour fruit, a strange burnt taste, faint vanilla, faint hazelnut, yeast, big alcohol in the middle followed by some sweetness, and a bitter burnt chemical finish. It’s not getting any better as it warms. Total flavour clash. Help.
