From bottle. Dark amber with some off white head. Clean nose. Moderate carbonation, some caramel and just a touch of earthiness. Nothing special, but pretty solid.

Bottle at HCC. Amber/orange pour with a small white head. Malt aroma with light roast and hints of florals. Tastes of roasted malt, nuts, caramel, and florals. Seems a little unbalanced. I’m not sure what it is about the earthy vibe... I just don’t feel the ingrediants coming together very well here.

This is a solid beer. Not going to blow you away but its any easy drinking Amber that will satisfy your urge for an Amber. It;s one you can enjoy with or without food and will not disappoint. One of Abitas better beers

UPDATED: APR 22, 2013 Not a great amber beer but drank in new orleans. A slight hoppy finish that surprised me.

The Abita Amber has an earthy, malty aroma. There was a light caramel head, with limited lacing. It’s appearance is that of a clear, orange/amber. However, the taste is where it loses me. In fact, I can’t find the taste, other than a lightly bitter finish that is barely existence. I’m a big fan of the Abita Brewery, but this amber isn’t my cup of tea. However, I will always finish the six pack.
