Abita Amber is a Munich style lager brewed with crystal malt and Perle hops. It has a smooth, malty, slightly caramel flavor and a rich amber color.

Pours a nice ambery color with a malty aroma. Smells a bit of caramel. Has a strong malty taste with a slightly bitter aftertaste.

lucent copper, thin tan head, thin medium light body, bubbley medium co2.

Aroma: very bready, sweet caramel malt, bright leafy hops.

Taste: thin and minerally, slight hop bitterness but no character, not much malt flavor.

Light bodied. Not much head on the initial pour that quickly dropped off. Gold/amber like color with a decent amount of carbonation. I can smell mostly the crystal malts that they talk about on the bottle along with a slight wheat smell. I taste malts and more malts with slight wheat and oat flavors. Nice beer very widely available.

Dark amber - almost brown. Thick head. Aroma is is of bread - can’t find much hops in there. Taste is a bit malt - thin on taste, but the palate is thick. The finish is short with a quick, fading bitterness. Probably an approachable beer for plenty of people, but lacking in taste for me.

12 oz bottle purchased at World Market as part of an Abita sampler. Pour is mostly clear copper with a huge foamy and rocky 5 inch light tan head. Falls slowly, leaving behind spotty lacing. Aroma of soft hay, and fresh crackery malt. The malt is nice, though quite faint. Taste is the cracker and mildly sweet biscuit of the nose, along with a pleasant hay and grain through the finish. There is a touch of apple fruit sweetness all along, though it is faint and under the maltiness. Simple, though nicely clean. Palate is medium to thin bodied, lower carbonation level and a crisp mineral finish. Overall, decent enough.

Sampled on draft at the World Beer Festival Richmond, 6/12/10. Pours a slightly hazy amber color with a large head. Good head retention and lacing. Aroma of nuts, caramel, scuppernong grapes and a grainy finish. The taste is syrupy grainy notes, scuppernongs and caramel. Medium bodied.

Bottle pour, slight haze, deep amber color, puffy off-white head. Aromas of sweet caramel, cinnamon, allspice, light roast malts. Very mild malts and hops tastes, mostly sweet, but a well balanced hops finish that allows all the flavors to stand out. A very well blended brew, satisfying, great taste, very drinkable. Something I will certainly enjoy more of this summer and fall.

really nothing special. This is an average beer all around. common pace malts and hops make this a drinkable yet common beer.
