kramer (2407), Sunbury, Pennsylvania, USA Jun 24, 2008 12 oz bottle. Pours a clear light amber body with a small fizzy off-white head that vanished very quickly. The nose is very grainy and husky with an odd grape soda quality to it. Not a whole lot of vienna malt noticable. The flavor is pretty thin with minimal sweetness and a watery cereal grain huskiness. This is just way too thin and weak to qualify it as a Vienna. There might be a bit of darker malt, but it’s purely for color and not flavor. Mouthfeel is light bodied, thin, and fizzy with a short rather limp, finish. Overall, just a really really weak effort at a Vienna. BelgianBeerGal (1276), Sabbatical in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA Jun 24, 2008 Bottled. Nothing terrible, just nothing fantastic either. Rather average except for an odd, flat bitterness in the flavour and finish. HonkeyBra (1274), Lemont, Illinois, USA Jun 15, 2008 A bunch of people from my school went to New Orleans and came back raving about this beer. I saw a six-pack at binny’s and decided to pick it up. Yup, just as I thought, they were stupid. I mean, yeah, it’s a step above the macros, but not really. Just a boring, bland beer. Ron (1002), Rochester, New York, USA Jun 15, 2008 Pours clear amber with an off-white quickly dissipating head. The aroma has caramel malt, vanilla and traces of hops. Medium / thin tinny body with semi-sharp carbonation. The flavor starts with the typical bland amber ale style malt and light mustiness. Average BeerFanDan17 (610), Land O Lakes, Florida, USA Jun 13, 2008 Average American amber lager. Tried it on draft in New Orleans. Flavors are typical and smooth for this style. thejon375 (390), Tampa, Florida, USA Jun 9, 2008 Not my favorite of the Abita family, but still a decent beer. Good flavor nice red color and tasty addition to any meal (especially burgers). jb (1024), Rochester, New York, USA May 31, 2008 Rather uninspiring. A step above the typical pale lager due to use of decent quantities of malt. But not much flavor. pepsican (884), The Student Ghetto, Iowa, USA May 27, 2008 caramel pour with a medium white head. Grainy aroma. Flavor was grain, caramel, and just a bit of hops. Finishes really clean, refreshing. An easy beer to session.
