mkuczyns (6), USA does not count Feb 21, 2007 better out of the tap than the bottle. not too overwhleming or heavy. relatively light for an amber. not bad by any stretch of the imagination, and refreshing on a hot and humid new orleans day. jetzler (622), oklahoma city, Oklahoma, USA Feb 21, 2007 Bottle, light sweetnotes, on the nose, but not much carmel. A light copper color, but not amber. Wow pretty lacking, I really like this style and this falls quite short in my opinion. If you want to be a semi macro, at least check out Bob’s 47. Watery, very watery for the style. Not much at all going on. Not terrible by anymeans but quite boring. aubreya (676), Chapel Hill, North Carolina, USA Feb 17, 2007 The color was a watery, yellow/orange. The head was fizzy and white. The aroma was citrisy with some floral hop. Tje flavor was citrisy yet a little bland. The palate was thin and the finish was abrupt. Cajun (144), New Iberia, Louisiana, USA Feb 13, 2007 Draft - Light amber / copper color with not much of a head. I was expecting more from this beer - being from Louisiana, I’d like to support the home state breweries. However, there was something lacking in the taste and was not as good as I was told. But a good po-boy will make any beer seem better. Haslinger (640), Syracuse, New York, USA Feb 12, 2007 Updated: Feb 3, 2008Decent beer for the money, tastes fairly good. Light mild hoppiness. Very drinkable beer. Wouldn’t buy again TLO (5), Tampa, Florida, USA does not count Feb 5, 2007 Like the Golden, the 12-oz. bottle of Amber poured true to its color, with a thick off-white head that effervesced and lasted quite a while, lacing the glass. Initial faint aroma promised sweet malt followed by bitter hoppiness. Also like the Golden, the taste was disappointing. The initial malty sweetness is overwhelmed by a strong and long-lasting bitterness, with an almost skunky aftertaste. Also, I found the consistency watery and thin. LinusStick (1830), Moon Twp, suburb of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA Feb 4, 2007 This beer brings me back to the days of riding on a float with the Krewe of Tucks during Mardi Gras. That was a 7 year tradition and one sip of this brings me back. Beautiful amber color with a 2 finger head that stays the distance. The taste was caramel/malt with little to no hoppiness. All I need is to put on some beads, grab a bottle of this and relieve my wild years! morrdt (608), Jacksonville, Florida, USA Jan 29, 2007 Bottle from Total Wine. Poured an amber color with a light white head. Taste was a bit bitter and I thought the hops and malts didn’t match up very well. Maybe my bottle was skunked.
