jpm30 (1588), East Central, Georgia, USA Jan 7, 2007 From a stubby twist off 12 oz. bottle with a blurb and notched freshness date on the back label.
Poured a orangey amber with a small fluffy, foamy head, a minimal amount of laced ringed sticking.
Aromas of toasted grains and caramel malts, a bit leafy herbal too.
Good carbonation and a crisp, smooth medium bodied mouthfeel.
Tastes of toasted grains, bready, touches of sweet caramel, a soft bitterness from spicy, herbal hops and dry toasted, husky grainy finish with a little caramel lingering in the palate.
Easy drinkability, quaffable, another nice lager from Abita.
KDorgan12 (163), Memphis, Tennessee, USA Jan 4, 2007 Draft - Baton Rouge. Brilliant Copper with little to no head. Lean body with thin toffee flavors. Smooth finish. BückDich (4793), McCall, Idaho, USA Dec 12, 2006 Bottle: Bronze, light head and lacing. Nose of crystal malt, light sweetness and vaguely hopped. The flavor is toasty, sweet, caramel and kinda bland for the style. Quite boring, in fact. Trooper11 (464), Suffolk, Virginia, USA Dec 9, 2006 Cloudy orangish-red brew small head. Rich caramel malty aroma with notes of fruit (cherry). Smooth drink, kind of watery, very malty sweet. Very easy to drink. Not bad, not great, would definitely drink over BMC. Fightfire4beer (125), Virginia, USA Nov 27, 2006 Bottle. Bronze color with a small off white head. Sweet, almost sour aroma. Sweet caramel flavor that quickly gives way to a plain carbonated water taste. Drinks easy. Not bad, but nothing special. B GG (1613), NorCal, California, USA Nov 17, 2006 There are a few products of Abita I enjoy, but this really isn’t one of them. Awfully light tasting (which can be a good thing depending on your mood) with not much anything going for it either way. I thought it was a bit minerally but it was light as I mentioned with a sweet malty nose. Decent appearance. Not much else. Parrothead (185), Ephrata, Pennsylvania, USA Nov 4, 2006 Bottle. Light amber in color. Cyrstal clear. Small off-white head, but it lasts.Almost a sour nose, but not in a bad way. [ :) ] Nice, toasty maltiness, enough hops to balance. Very smooth. Better in it’s style than Turbodog is in it’s. unclemattie (2370), Georgia, USA Oct 22, 2006 Sampled this at the Great Decatur Beer Tasting Festival. nasty. golden color with a distinct corn aroma. And that’s about it. Do think I’ll try this again.
