milewide (609), Grand Rapids, Michigan, USA Oct 20, 2006 Nice amber color. More sour than sweet. Nothing special, but more flavor than many lagers. RCL (1444), Waltham, Massachusetts, USA Oct 17, 2006 Pretty forgettable. Reminds me of liquid cardboard. The taste is rather like a cola that you get from a machine that has almost completely ran out of syrup. Pass. JFGrind (1346), Glenside, Pennsylvania, USA Oct 14, 2006 Listing Abita Amber as a Vienna makes more sense of this beer to me. German style beer with bready, musty flavors. If Abita is targeting Southern craft beer drinkers they may have something here. Light enough to drink in warm weather and enough flavor to satisfy a beer geek. jason (1620), Easton, Pennsylvania, USA Oct 8, 2006 draft. Nothing really stood out on this, meaning this wasn’t great...but it was pretty well balanced. redbarista (40), Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA Sep 26, 2006 This was pretty bad. I don’t know if I got a bad batch [I put it in the refrigerator for only about 1/2 hour after getting it back from the distributor] or what, but on the whole I’d rather be in Philadelphia drinking Utica Club. Immy (1912), Virginia Beach, Virginia, USA Sep 20, 2006 Bottle with gputty. Clear orange with a thin white head. Nose is very mild caramel, a touch of herbal hop. Bland flavors of caramel and small spicy hop. Meh. gputty (456), Virgina Beach, Virginia, USA Sep 16, 2006 From bottle. Pours a hazy amber with foamy off white head. Nose is light caramel malt with an underlying funkiness. Flavor is more of the same, a little hop spiciness, and a clean finish. troyc (1173), Lubbock, Texas, USA Sep 15, 2006 (Bottle) Pours amber with a small, short-lived head. Malty with some hoppy notes in the aftertaste. Decent brew, but overall a pretty run-of-the-mill amber ale.
