The flavor was sweet and caramelly. Not much hop character to speak of. Not a lot going on. Too sweet for my taste. jrob21 (1257), Atlanta, Georgia, USA

| 2.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 2/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 8/20 | Aug 20, 2006 Very unusual aroma- wasn’t sure how a beer could smell like barnyard or horseblanket until trying this one. Smelled like damp wool. Flavor wasn’t bad though. Average on all other levels. The 20th anniversary pilsner was much much better. Beerdedone (1873), Croydon, Pennsylvania, USA

12 oz bottle
Recent bottling, ingurgitated 08/06
Medium pour in a pint glass.
Poured clear copper with quickly diminishing white 1/8 inch head.
Smelt of maltiness and hint of caramel
Flavor started off malty and bland with a touch of sweet caramel on the body with barely any finish. Overall watery and simple. Mouthfeel was light and lively.
Overall, only the color hints that this is an attempt at an amber beer.
