355ml bottle from Appellation Wines, Dalry. Pours clear amber with a short-lived white head. Aromas of toffee and nuts. Taste is more of the same. Clean finish. Not that exciting but well executed.

Caramel amber pour with a slight white head. Airport bar, so it was a fucking frozen glass, which might be a good thing. Malty nose. A bit of cracker, malty, a tiny bit of earthy hops hidden in there. Tastes like it may have been cold filtered.

I had it from the bottle. It was sweet with a caramel and malt taste. I like an amber to be a little more balanced with hops. This wasnít bad. It was very ordinary. It makes for an okay session beer and probably pairs well with pub food.

Bottle: amber color with about two fingers of a frothy white head. Aroma was slightly malty. Flavor was sweet, sort of caramel like.

Twelve ounce bottle from Abita variety 12 pack purchased at Jeffís Marathon, tasted on April 3, 2015. Amber color with fine clarity, nice malty nose with some sugar notes, sweet malty flavor with some unpleasant chemical character in the backround, taste mellowed as my glass warmed. This beer seemed better on draft when I had it at Abitaís brewpub and in New Orleans back in the 90ís, and The Big Easy and vicinity is probably still the best place to drink it. Come to think of it, most things taste better down there...

Orange amber pour from a 12 oz bottle. Kind of a damp hay aroma with a malty taste that has a touch of sweetness. Faint herbaceous bitterness that fades fast. Medium body, fairly creamy feel with robust carbonation. Good example of the style. Good with gumbo...I can personally attest.

UPDATED: APR 9, 2015 Pour is nice amber color (obviously) with a pretty thick off white foamy head. It has an interesting runny lacing thatís cute.

Aroma, first whiff was of dog poo. It mellowed out since that first whiff, but Iím stuck with it. Iíll always remember that first whiff.

Taste however, is pretty good. Itís a caramel sweetness countered by a bittersweet hoppiness. Itís pretty impressive actually. I taste some breadniess, and other complexities.

Moutfheel is somewhat watery. It has an oily feel, finishes bitter yet clean. Itís dry, but not too dry

Overall, itís decent, and would be a lot better if they could get that aroma thing sorted out. But I probably wonít be trying it again.Iím editing this a bit because Iím not satisfied with my overall score. Iíve lowered it from 16 to 13 overall, again, because of the nose. While everything else about it is good or great, ugh, that first impression counts for a lot!

12 oz. bottle into a pint glass A: Pours a clear dark amber orange with a very nice 1" beige head. Decent retention and lacing also. S: Hops come in on a weak nose overall. a slight white bread crust note. T: Much different from the smell with a not quite caramelly malt flavor and a nice tart bitterness overall. Simple but pretty nice. M: Fairly thin as expected at this ABV. Low visible carbonation but a nice tingle on the tongue. Pretty clean and refreshing. O: Simple, inoffensive session lager wont bowl anyone over but a nice quencher with spicy food. Good to try but I probably wont buy again.
