CStar17 (14), New York, New York, USA Nov 15, 2005 A very light beer, not what I was expecting from the fat little bottle. Poured clean with virtually no head. The flavor was good, a little malty if you concentrate real hard. Otherwise very thin and watery, but decent overall. Vatruvian (27), Fort Wayne, Indiana, USA Nov 8, 2005 bottle. For some reason I was thinking this was going to be a spectacular beer. It wasn’t. It was a malty lager, which was good, but finished weak with a thin palate. If I were buying abita again I would stick with their turbo dog. Thaichile (599), 10aFly, New Jersey, USA Nov 6, 2005 Bottle. Pours dull amber. Taste is musty/sour. Very plain and watery, not worth drinking. Had it 2 for 1 so I got stuck with an unfortunate 2nd one. HogTownHarry (3922), Toronto (Harbourfront), Ontario, Canada Nov 2, 2005 Bottle (12oz). Poured slightly hazy orange-amber, decent fizzy off-white diminishing head. Pretty nasy aroma of vegetal sour malt with a hint of chocolate. Taste is not bad - nutty grain, some light vaguely roasty malt, brackish finish. Mouthfeel is dry and watery. Not recommended. awebster (165), Knoxville, Tennessee, USA Oct 31, 2005 A medium-bodied, decently hopped amber beer. Fairly drinkable, good appearance. A good sociable beer. bigrond (1043), factoryville, Pennsylvania, USA Oct 31, 2005 abita doesn’t do it for me. none of it. Had in Nawlins a and I didn’t care for it there either. Had this one tonight and man it’s very below average. I’d rather drinks a mass produced beast beer the this crap. But it was the only beer on the menu that I hadn’t tried. I always say I’ll try anything twice - but not this one!! 21iceman40 (1731), vienna, West Virginia, USA Oct 27, 2005 I only drank this to support the hurricane victims, and it is much like the water floating around the city these days. I can dig some turbo dog, but other than that no abita is a good thing. Very light, watery, weak, maybe some caramel in the background, but not alot. Megan (101), Durham, North Carolina, USA Oct 16, 2005 Pretty good. Smooth, medium palate. Rich and malty tasting. Deep amber brown color.
