This is a beer that usually can be had at establishments in SE Louisiana, and therefore is the easy choice vs, the generic mass-marketed American cr@p. Not as good as its brother brew Turbodog, but certainly mroe interesting than something like Bud.

Nice flavor, though indistinct. Excellent color and appearance. Not one I would buy on a regular basis though (it also appears to be the most common local brew in New Orleans, as it was everywhere I went).

12 oz. bottle. Pours a clear amber with a thin white head that quickly faded to nothing. Very light aroma of malt. The flavor is also very light malt with the slightest bitter hops finish. Watery mouthfeel. Average at best.

UPDATED: APR 24, 2008 seemed to me to be an imitation irish ale of some sort. had it on tap in manhattan (52nd st & 9th ave) cheap busybeer flavor. barley,burnt wheat and ....nuttin.red beer usually sucks. SOFT SILKY WITH A NICE HOP AROMA OUT OF THE BOTTLE THAT hoppiness dissapears quickly. a little dank tasting not as bad as i originaly said.

It has a definite smell of malt and a bit of a burnt palate. I did not like the finish either. I felt it should have had a bigger mouthfeel!

Bottle poured a clear amber with a small dissapating white head. Aromas of sweet malt, carmel and light earthiness. Palate was light bodied and smooth. Flavors of toasted malt, carmel, spicy hops and a hint of earthiness with a smooth malty finish.

Bottle: Pale caramel, orange hues, moderate off-white head, fizzy, sparce lacing, light carbonation. Grainy nose, diacytl, more graininess. Imagine that, nasty ass rabbit food like grain flavor. This totally reminds me of rabbit food. I don’t know if this is off, or right on target based on others reviews. Moderate body, slightly sticky mouthfeel. Some caramel and bready notes on the finish, but still remains quite grainy with a slight does of diacytl. Not one of your better Amber Ales.
