henry3r (586), Wichita, Kansas, USA Jun 4, 2005 The bottle poured a beautiful crystal clear amber liquid with an almost white amble head. Unfortunately the head dissipated quickly and left almost no lacing. The aroma promises a load of malt sweetness and has notes of chocolate as well but no hint of hops. The body was medium with a thin texture and lively carbonation. The flavor was the fulfillment of the aroma promise of malt sweetness and the finish was long and slightly bitter. SuIIy (1406), Jamaica Plain, Massachusetts, USA Jun 3, 2005 Bottle. Pours a dirty dark redish color with a whitish head. smells like sewer water. Taste is bum urine on a dirty piece of cardboard in detroit. cansdap (17), Madisonville, Louisiana, USA May 26, 2005 Good, basic everyday beer. Much better on draught. A little watery to be a favorite, but as noted in other ratings, is made with exceptionally nice water. Has a certain sweetness to it, but more of sugar than malt. Nicely balanced hop wise. Holdwine (904), Beertimore, Maryland, USA May 17, 2005 All I can say is, thank god abita uses good water to make their brews. It is the most prevalent marker. Clear, crisp refreshing, yet very watery. Small amounts of malt in this weak amber. JohnC (2227), Mission Viejo, California, USA May 6, 2005 clear dark brown with a decent rooasty, mallty flavor. Nothing special, but not offensive thegreenrooster (1811), St.louis, Missouri, USA Apr 14, 2005 Pour is a clear brown with a small head. Aroma could use some work but you do get some faint whiffs of malt. Flavor is much better. Lots of roasted carmel malts with a touch of brown sugar. Overall pretty bland though as the flavor does not make up for the lack of aroma or the weak look. If you going to try a Abita beer, try the turbo dog. ericmc83 (200), Arkansas, USA Apr 1, 2005 A hint of hops in the beginning with a somewhat malty finish. Nothing offensive, but it’s kind of bland. Nothing stands out at all. BillyM (149), St. Louis, Missouri, USA Mar 26, 2005 Cloudy amber color. Hops and wheat and corn. Fairly average tasting ale, but it did have a little extra flavor with a slight caramel note. Not too exciting, but not bad either. [$6.29/6pk]
