There was some head formation but slowly dissapated. The color was of copper but slightly cloudy. The taste was of malt but little watery. This was not a noteworthy beverage. Drinkable but not special. I enjoyed another lager at the Sandpearl in Clearwater, FL. the color was a clear amber. It compares well to the Traditional lager from Yuengling. The tastes are all mild and hard to pinpoint. There’s no bitterness, mild malts, and water. Overall, this is a disappointing microbrew, but it is so much more interesting than a lot of crap you find in the South. I’ve not liked the supposed "Viennas" that I’ve rated. | 2.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 9/20 | Nov 19, 2004 Head is initially small, frothy, off-white, mostly diminishing. Body is clear medium amber. Aroma is moderately malty (bread, grain), lightly hoppy (flowers), with a note of DMS. Flavor is moderately sweet, lightly bitter. Finish is lightly sweet, moderately bitter, slightly grainy. Medium body, watery texture, lively carbonation. A somewhat husky, cooked corn concoction that doesn’t seem to be trying to be anything better than below-average. cAPSLOCK (154), Dallas, Texas, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Nov 7, 2004 This is a beer with sentamental value. It reminds me of a trip to New Orleans. I have always liked it, though it isn’t spectacular... it is a really good middle of the road amber. Nutty/honey aroma. The flavor is also nutty with a bit of molasses. It is a pretty clear brown. Fast diminishing head. Good beer. I will choose it over many. bombshelter (349), Washington, Washington DC, USA
