SHIG (2012), Aviano, Italy Mar 15, 2009 Bottle: Poured a rusty copper with a off creamy white head. Aroma is sweet and malty. Taste is caramel malt and metallic hops. sspectre (2), Pearland, Texas, USA does not count Mar 11, 2009 I’ll admit it, I’m partial to Abita because I’m from New Orleans. It’s an above-average beer good for standard drinking, and usually what I’ll go to at a restaurant.
Clear amber color, white head. Goes down smooth with flavors of malt and caramel and a clean finish. ben4321 (960), Rockville, Maryland, USA Mar 10, 2009 Overall Impression:
I remember this being a decent Amber beer, but I just didn’t stick in my brain too well.
**I will need to re visit this ranking in the future, as I don’t remember all the intricacies of this beer well enough to record them at this time. FlssmrBrewAlum (1081), Lisle, Illinois, USA Mar 9, 2009 12 oz bottle from the Binnys Singles Rack (Orland Park, Il). Pours a bit of a dark gold, just a touched hazed, with decent offwhite head that dissipates to a good film. Well carbonated, aromas are some decent bready malt with light biscuit and a spiciness to it. Initial is light bodied, light bready malt, light sweetness, with a faint spice and pepper. A little too watery and weak for me. Needs to pronounce it’s style, not cower in fear and lack flavor. Quenching, but lacking overall. alobar (1007), Harleysville, Pennsylvania, USA Mar 8, 2009 Clear amber color with a white head. Mild hop, wheat, and malt aroma. Smooth drinking. Not much carbonation. Flavor of malts, wheat and a mild hop end. sebletitje (1880), Tampa, Florida, USA Mar 6, 2009 pours copper with white head.
Aroma is hoppy, wheat and malty, really nothing special there.
Taste, hoppy with some fruit notes, light malt presence giving the beer a sweet mouthfeel of wheat/caramel with notes of grains.
Boring at best. tdcritch (112), Missouri, USA Mar 4, 2009 Bottle. Amber color, normal white head. Little lacing on the glass but it is carbonated well. Malt and grain taste. Cavie (1318), Fort Worth, Texas, USA Mar 4, 2009 Has a slight taste of burnt barley. The cocoa taste can’t overpower the subtilty of burntness.
