COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Abita Amber is a Munich style lager brewed with crystal malt and Perle hops. It has a smooth, malty, slightly caramel flavor and a rich amber color.

Medium malts, minimal hops. This one could use a touch more caramel to add a little flavor.

Amber pour with a malty aroma. Flavor is somewhat bland and seemed really ordinary. Lacks a bit on the hops.

Solid head, foamy and thick, but it subsides fast. Color is straight up amber excellence and thats where most of the positiives of this brew lie. Taste has some slight caramel, roasted malt and grainy pint nut up front. Rather bland going down but its not a terrible beer. The color is pure amber though, and that is just fantastic.

It pours a hazy amber color with a small white head that fades to a thin ring. It has a bunch of carb and some spotty lacing. On the nose I am getting some malt and a little carmel. The flavor is actually a little watery. I am getting some malt, carmel. It has some yeasty notes too. But I am not getting any metallic notes that you sometimes have with amber’s. There isn’t enough malt or hop’s, so I would say a super light amber. It finishes a little sweet and and some faint hops. A pretty boring beer overall

Pours a clear golden/amber color. Small white head. Aroma is subtle bready malt and a small amount of hops. Flavor is pretty much the same. Smooth, simple and easy to drink but nothing very exciting. Lighter and crisp flavor. Clean finish but I’d rather reach for a Yuengling or Sam Adams.

Poured a hazy golden amber with a decent size head that quickly dissapated. Crisp on the tongue with slight malt flavor. The finish was a bit off. Not a favorite.

Bottle-poured, a modest head with an amber color and a light malt aroma. There’s a crisp mouth – taste is lightly bitter, nothing fancy or complex; a bit brassy in the palate. In this category, I find the New Belgium Fat Tire amber a nicer brew; but this Louisiana beer is good enough.

Enjoyed on tap at the Carousel Bar in the Hotel Monteleone. Poured a light copper body with a good bit of off-white head. Aromas are lightly malty, grassy/floral hops and a bit bready. Flavors are similar to the nose with light to medium sweetness and finishes with a hint of grassy hops. Extra points given for drinking this beer in such a historical bar.
