I love Abita! I was turned onto them when I spent some time in New Orleans a while back. Smells great right up until that first sip and I was overpowered by the caramel, a little too malty than I would have preferred but not bad.

Features a malty aroma and thick head. The flavor has a nice hop/malt balance but the color wasn't very amber.

Draft. Not too bad. Just another megabrewed dark beer, kinda like my first Schlitz Dark. Short head actually hangs around a little while. Slightly caramelly taste with hint of corn. I got this in New Orleans in a "to go" cup to wash out the taste of a $1.50 Skyy Blue (I swear they must be making these with NutraSweet!), so it filled a need. The sad thing is, in the touristy French Quarter, this is the closest you're going to come to finding a microbrew on tap. All else is just Bud, Bud Light...

Pours a two finger white head that fades quickly leaving traces of lace. Clear amber color. Light carbonation and medium bodied. Smells like hay. Flavor is malty, smooth but nothing special. Clean finish. Best by Oct 23.(gift) 12oz bottle from somewheres in New Orleans.

on tap new orleans: another local micro. ofcourse everyone has one except my hometown. light copper color with small white head. not much going on with the nose, some mustiness maybe. a somwhat thin taste light hops and malt flavor, easy to drink but unexciting. a notch above the macros.

It's a Vienna, so it should be milder than say the marzen. I like the honey sweetness which is definitely not overdone. A pretty fair beer.

Bottle sampled with Beerded_one. Pours amber with an off-white head. Aroma of citrus, sweet malts, grain. Flavor is sweet, malty, slight citrusy bitter finish. Ok body, ok brew.
