Bomber Pours with a small bubbly head. Great aroma was present. Tastes of bitter/sour hay, little citrus, and has a somewhat harsh finish.

Weak for a Doppelbock, too sweet in the finish. More wine-like than dopplebock.
3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 Trev (1424) - Lakeville, Minnesota, USA - JUN 6, 2010
pours a nice medium gold with a lasting tight white head.
aroma is interesting. Herbal/cooked vegetable thing going on.
Under that, biscuity and caramel malt sweetness. some grassy hop as well.
Flavour seems like a pretty standard pale bock. Medium sweet biscuity maltiness with a pronounced grassy hop presence. Still leaves a bit of cloying sweetness in the finish. I didn’t find it that dry.

Bomber. Also at the Red Fish...I know, I was drinking a lot there. A clear golden with small white head. Aroma is sweet fruity buttery goodness...best smelling Abita! Pretty light bodied with a flavor of sweet fruits and again a buttery and spicy malt excellence. A big bad brew that compliments my PO boy I now am eating.

Bottled @ Boston/NY 2009. Clear yellow color, short head. Aroma of grassy hop, corn, malt. Boring taste. More like a strong pilsener.
3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20 allendodd (108) - Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA - MAY 18, 2010
clear light yellow-orange pour under a white head. Nose is light malt sweetness and a slight citrus. Mouth feel is smooth with a slight hint of alcohol warmth. Taste opens with the sweetness of malt and a not unpleasant hint of grain that blends nicely with the lager yeasts to give a dry-enough finish for this one. Nice enough beer, but I’m not sure why I’d go back for more.

Light grain aroma. Clear golden color with a large white head. Mild sour and bitter grain beginning with fades to a tanginess in the finish.
3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20 omhper (15600) - Stockholm, SWEDEN - MAY 5, 2010
Bottled at Monk’s Café Wallingatan, Stockholm. Clear golden, brief head. Having had less favourable experiences with other Abita beers I approached this with some caution. I was greeted by deep buttery malt, grass and some fruitiness. It came out pleasantly dry with a well built rounded body. Some husky buttery malt dominates the flavours until a light salty bitterish finish with a slight alcohol warmth. A restrained and well balanced heller bock, much more authentic than expected and with a really good malt profile.
