COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A creature of the swamp, Andygator is a unique high gravity brew made with 2-row pale malt, German lager yeast, and Liberty hops. Unlike other high gravity brews, Andygator is fermented to a dry finish.

Draft at mellow Mushroom. Pours copper with frothy, thin white head. Taste is very sweet with honey and corn flavor. If I had a drain I would dump it down. Terrible.

Let me first say that I don’t know at all what a Helles Doppelbock is supposed to taste like. Having said that, I enjoyed it. Weird thing is, both my girlfriend and I liked it. It’s sweet, which she would like normally, but I didn’t mind. It was clean and refreshing too, which I guess is why the sweet didn’t bother me. Finished easy and crisp, manged to have some body and be refreshing without much hop.

Deep gold blushing with copper, stunningly white, enduring foam. Candyish, dark honey and dusty aroma, nuances of spice and fruit: anise, plum, framboise, prune, peach. Full yet barely sweet malt taste and grassy/peppery hop. There is a background muddy/poopy/acrid bite than took me nearly the whole bottle to put a name to: liver ! That’s right, this beer tastes like beef liver. Glycerin mouthfeel. Diacetyl, cardboard and warming ethanol finish. Waxy afteraste. Looks good, smells Belgian, everything else is a horrible mess.

Bomber from Blue Max. Pours with a small bubbly head. Very little aroma was present. Tastes of bitter/sour hay, little citrus, and has a somewhat harsh finish. Not worth the $7 for a bomber...little sad now.

Draft. Pours hazy orangey golden with a medium whitish head. This is a strange beer. Almost tastes like malt liquor; I didn’t get Heller bock. Very sweet up front, pretty bitter in the finish. Lots of corn and cereal. Thick, unpleasant palate. Kind of astringent. Can really taste the alcohol, especially in the finish.

On tap at Battleship Brewhouse. Pours a deep golden color. Aroma is of sweeter malts, some citrus, and dough. Flavor is pretty much the same. Nothing too special about this one. It is pretty smooth for 8%.

Taste is very bitter and strong. Aroma is of hay and grass. At 8 percent, it should be more of a bock taste, but this is very hard and has a bad aftertaste.

BeerBunker (687) - Burbank, Illinois, USA - MAR 24, 2010
22oz bottle. Pours orange with a big, foamy off-white head. Aroma is of wheat, malt, fruit, and dusty malt. Taste is of sawdust, butthole, malt, and fruit. Insanely bland. Lingering taste of sawdust. Mouthfeel is crisp, but it doesn’t matter because it’s crap. I knew it wouldn’t be good, but it could have been much worse.
