2.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 ApisAles (1221) - Greenbelt, Maryland, USA - APR 5, 2009
Pours a nice light yellow orange color with a small white head. Aroma is citrus, lemon, malt and yeast. . . kind of an interesting sweet and sour combo. Flavor was really kind of low key but sharp. Malty with some citrus background. Bit of a weird combo. not terrible, but not great.
3.3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 AR (722) - Georgia, USA - APR 4, 2009
Other than their root beer, this is one of the better products from Abita. It’s nothing complex, but it has a thick texture and a solid, malty yeast flavor.

1.8 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 5/20 yemenmocha (657) - Glendale, Arizona, USA - APR 3, 2009
Pours beautiful golden color with contrasting white head that is very creamy. Nose is faint, but has a macro-malty, lemony boozy quality to it. Palate has a sharp character, alcohol easily noticed right away, modest malt flavor, and nothing much positive for the mind to latch onto.

Bottle thanks to bu11zeye. Pours with a small white head over a clear golden body. Aroma of straw, fruity esters, dough, and a bit salty. Taste is fruity and a bit grassy with some corn notes. Light bubbles.
2.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20 aplusbreaks (330) - Boulder, Colorado, USA - APR 1, 2009
22oz bottle thanks to KAggie97. Pours a clear pale golden with a mostly diminishing head and some lacing. Aromas of dough, light hops, light caramel and some earthy notes. Flavors of sweet malts, grass, and corn? Palate is medium bodied and fairly light on the carbonation. Thanks again Kevin
3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 Beerlando (3324) - Orlando, Florida, USA - MAR 31, 2009
A vigorous pour from the bomber yields a clear golden body with a thick, spongy, eggshell colored head. As the foam recedes, splotchy rings of lacing form on the glass. The nose shows doughy yeast, creamy pils malt, a light floral hopping, and some dusty, peppery, earthy notes. Flavors are mild and somewhat sugary, yet sufficiently hopped with dry, earthy grass. The finish is nicely spiced with white pepper. Substantially bodied, with a little to much alcoholic heat and some astringency, the grassy hops concentrate on the zesty, carbonated finish. Decent enough to drink in small doses, but not something I’ll go back to.
2.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 9/20 Gypsy19 (728) - California, USA - MAR 31, 2009
Pours a light gold with a large rising head. Aroma is decent enough, of peaches and hops. Flavor is where this heads south: It starts out somewhat IPA-esque with a little hops and bitter fruit, and then all of a sudden, "Is this malt liquor?!?". The middle and the end is like turpentine or nail polish remover, with a splash of cheap cologne. I’ll still finish it, but that second half is rough. Overall, fair.
3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 Dorwart (2158) - Robbinsville, New Jersey, USA - MAR 29, 2009
Minimal head from a pretty vigorous pour. Disappeared almost instantly. Light fruity aroma with some peaches and light malts. Color is a bright golden orange. Flavor is a weak malty backbone with some more light fruit hanging around. White grape and pear. This is not as sickly sweet as most dopplebocks which is very welcome. Noticable alcohol presence. Pretty plain but still good. Not much depth or character. Finishes warming and sweet. A welcome change to the thick malty dopplebocks.
