COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A creature of the swamp, Andygator is a unique high gravity brew made with 2-row pale malt, German lager yeast, and Liberty hops. Unlike other high gravity brews, Andygator is fermented to a dry finish.

2011-05-13. Crisp dark yellow body with a small white head. 3+ Modest aroma of canned peas or canned corn, odd whisp of a distant campfire, or BBQ smoke that is not the right descriptor but that is the closest I can get. Creamed corn as it warms up. 5+ Flavour is similar with sweet pale malt, floral character and an odd twinge to it that is not quite vegetal. Average palate. Alcohol is pretty restrained, it is not showing the booze as much as I expected. Not loving it. Bottle shared by HogTownHarry

Pours clear gold into a Sam glass. Bright white conglomerate head with good retention recedes leaving spider lacing. Cookie and nut aromas. Sweet caramel and sour hay collide before the hot, lasting cookie finish. Similar to an Eastern European strong lager.

Poured a very pale yellow with a large white foamy head. Aroma has some flowers with pale malts. Not too complex. Taste is a little thin with flowers, vegetables, and malts. Some apples and spices. Finish is a little syrupy with some corn. Overall pretty drinkable, but the flavors are a little strange. Nothing really interesting about it.

Bottle, 22oz. A clear, golden beer topped by a small, off-white to light beige head. The aroma has some cooked vegetables as well as pale malts and some hops. Sweet flavor with pale malts, quite fruity. Medium to full body. Fruity finish. It hides the alcohol very well, but I don’t think it’s very succesful as a pale bock. I have to admit pale bock isn’t my favorite style, and this one not being top notch certainly don’t make me crave for more. 110107

Bottle 650 ml (apparently this is my # 1000 lager I rated)
Aroma: sweet honey blend with floral notes, mineral fell to it. Clean and proper.7+
Appearance: Clear golden look with plus sized proper white top. Nice and bright. Sadly top did not lasted too long.
Palate / Taste: Medium plus bodied. Clean character, some alcohol warmth is present. Sweet proper malt with good heft. Not too heavy or cloying. Proper drinkable Helles Bock.

Tap @ Oceana: Pours a pale gold color, nice white head. The nose is fresh and yeasty with a sweet biscuit and grape note (maybe honey?). The esters are strong, the malts and hops are not, but it’s light enough in alcohol that it doesn’t seem overburdening. Nice bock.

Pale golden yellow color, slightly hazy, with an eggshell white head, moderate retention and very nice lace. Modest pale malt aromas with butter notes and a hint of yeast. Flavors are somewhat more pronounced, with sweet bread and toffee leading the way, followed by toast, white wine grapes, and some balancing floral hops. Light to medium body, highly effervescent, and a very dry but not cleansing finish.

I’ve complained about some Belgians, mostly doubles through quadrupels, as approaching malt liquors. This is the first bock I’ve had that leans that way. Aroma is corn sugar with a little lemon and a little white bread. Not too yellow; minimal white head. Nothing offesnive to the taste, a slightly beefed up lager. Nice bottle art.
