3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
On tap at a restaurant in Savannah. Server described it as a "german lager" so I was expecting something along the lines of a pilsner. However, I was pleasantly surprised by this very interesting sweet and complex helles. Pours clear pale. Sweet floral aroma. Good very balanced sweet and crisp flavor.

2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
"This is not really representative of how much i like the style. This example is just a little overly sweet and grainy, without that distinct liquid bread aspect I so love. Below average for the style. Still ok overall."

From a 650ml bottle on 17/8/2014 (shared by Butz with thanks). Pours a clear olden with a medium head. The aroma features some bready malt and honeyish notes. In the mouth, it’s quite sweet with more honey and some bready malt, finishing with a decent bitter kick and just a hint of alcohol. That said, it’s pretty easy drinking for 8%. Quite good.

Andygator is nice. This Helles Doppelbock is a nice amber color with no head. Has a smooth full mouth feel with a good balance and nice non bitter finish. Like it but watch out like the bottle says sip don't gulp, it has a way of sneaking up

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle at tradewinds. Nose is yeast and toffee sweetness. Smooth big mouthfeel and a bit of alcohol bite. Notes of yeast malt raisins and mild hop acridity. Not bad but not great. Fits the genre nicely.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle. Pours a medium straw color. White head. Sweet aroma. Flavor is malty and sweet.. Decent body. I may be at odds with some of the other raters, but I found this to be surprisingly good. I wasn’t expecting much but I liked it and would drink it again.
