COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Abita Andygator®, a creature of the swamp, is a unique, high-gravity brew made with pale malt, German lager yeast, and German Perle hops. Unlike other high-gravity brews, Andygator® is fermented to a dry finish with a slightly sweet flavor and subtle fruit aroma. Reaching an alcohol strength of 8% by volume, it is a Helles Doppelbock.

Bottle from Total Wine in Boca. Poured into snifter at home with a thick white head. Golden wheat color with a significant haze. Aroma of bread, hay, bananas. The taste is mild like most hellers with a bread taste and very slight fruit. Dry on the finish with no real hop profile. Very light body, medium carb. Clean and crisp. Not bad.

650ml bottle. Pale gold colour, decent slightly off-white head which reduced to a ring, traces of lacing. Very gentle aroma, honeydew? Lightly sweet taste. Medium-full body. Smooth, slick texture. Fizzy carbonation and a little alcohol warmth. Not as assertive as your typical Doppelbock but decent enough in its own right. 6.

Aroma: Bread aromas, but faint. Appearance: Clear pale orange with white head. Taste: Light sweetness with hints of sourness at the edges. Palate: Medium body, creamy texture, soft carbonation, long finish. Overall: A deceptive beer--high ABV not apparent. Really solid. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Honestly, this smells a bit like a swamp, so the name is appropriate. Slightly malty. Tastes a bit like marshmallows.

Great flavor, will get again, exactly what I expect out of a lager with a bit of something unique.

Pours hazy golden orange with a fluffy marshmallow head that dissipates quickly. I really like this beer, although I have a soft spot for all things malty. Earthy, spicy and fresh, bready aromas. Malty as fuq. Sweetness from a high finishing gravity I’m guessing, cooking flavours bordering on burnt abound - something I dig. Slight hints of deeply rich toffee also. No bitterness to pin really, other than a subtle zing at the back and a slight astringency . Medium high carbonation with a luxurious tongue glove.
