UPDATED: APR 25, 2012 Gold color and lasting white head. Aroma with an off fruity almost vegetable smell. Not really a dopplebock but closer to a maibock. Not my favorite.

A good offering here at this Louisiana style bistro. Matches the menu quite well. An almost oily mouthfeel, but fairly bald in taste. Gorgeous color though. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Wow. Pretty bad. Not even sure what this is. Tastes like a pumped up lager. Nothing much to like, really.

Bottle. Pours a clear gold with a white head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma has notes of musty grain with a bit of sweetness and a hint of grass. Flavor is similar with musty grains and grass as well as a touch of sweetness.

Bottle. Pours a slightly hazy copper color with a small head and spotty lacing. Aroma of citrus, grain, a bit of yeast and malt sweetness. Taste of citrus, bit of malt sweetness and grain. Distinct bitterness and a lemony finish. Light body, definite taste of the 8% ABV. Decent beer but not to my liking.

Bottle - Pours golden amber with a filmy off-white head. Nose is corn, honey, cereal grains, and lightly bitter herbal hops. Taste is slightly skunky corn malt, sweet grain, and lot of honey sweetness. Finishes with bitter malt. Biting carbonation, thin, and slick.

Wittales (564) - Las Vegas, Nevada, USA - MAR 16, 2014
Appearance was clear gold with lasting creamy white 2 finger head, no lacing. Aromas are sweet pale, crystal malts with slight estery fruits of lemon, spice, no alcohol. Taste are sweet pale malt with corn, hints of lemon and fruity yeasts, no alcohol. Palate was soft smooth clean crisp CO2 with medium body, average length sweet malty finish. I don’t know if it’s a Helles or Dopplebock, but an easy drinker.

For some reason I thought I was getting into something else. This pours lagery golden blonde with ok head and lacing. Some booze and some nice prominent malt. Liberty hops work well for style. Booze evident but doesn’t taste as strong as you would think. Ok if this is your thing - better than drinking 40s. Tap at some bar.
