3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Appearance was clear gold with lasting creamy white 2 finger head, no lacing. Aromas are sweet pale, crystal malts with slight estery fruits of lemon, spice, no alcohol. Taste are sweet pale malt with corn, hints of lemon and fruity yeasts, no alcohol. Palate was soft smooth clean crisp CO2 with medium body, average length sweet malty finish. I donít know if itís a Helles or Dopplebock, but an easy drinker.

2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
For some reason I thought I was getting into something else. This pours lagery golden blonde with ok head and lacing. Some booze and some nice prominent malt. Liberty hops work well for style. Booze evident but doesnít taste as strong as you would think. Ok if this is your thing - better than drinking 40s. Tap at some bar.

1.8 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 6/20
Smells stinky and has a nauseatingly sweet start and finish. Of all the Abita beers that I have tried, this one is probably the least appealing to me personally.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 12/20
Best before March 3, 2014.
Appearance: The body has a light haze through the amber/orange hue. The white head is tall on the pour but settles to a thick and frothy coating quickly.
Aroma: The aroma is simple, semi-sweet malts with toast and a floral overlie. I get a touch of fruitiness as well. The aroma has good strength and smells decent, a bit generic, but decent.
Taste: The malts are sweet without being cloying, the finish is dry and crisp with some toast and herbal qualities. This is a simple lager, but an enjoyable one.
Palate: Full-bodied with high carbonation, crisp and cuts through the sweetness.
Overall: This is an enjoyable lager, something I could put a few back. Very easy to drink for 8% though I may be picking up some apples which would be an off-flavor. Itís definitely an enjoyable beer though.

2.5 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20
No real distinctive aroma, gold colour, heavily carbonated, not much head. Mild taste, of nuts and dried fruit. Faint palate of fruit.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
bottle. Golden with one finger head. Light malt body with crisp hop finish. Seems more like a nice slightly sweet pale ale than anything else. Probably the best Iíve ever had from Abita, though itís nothing super.

Had this one bottled, thanks Papi! This is really not my style, but I did think it had a nice balance.
