A creature of the swamp, Andygator is a unique high gravity brew made with 2-row pale malt, German lager yeast, and Liberty hops. Unlike other high gravity brews, Andygator is fermented to a dry finish.

Uhh, not my bag baby. Poured clear gold with a frothy white head. Nice lacing. Sweet, perfume aroma laden with spun sugar, lemon, and malt. Sparkling mouthfeel, kept the feel light. Taste started off good, but got sickening towards the end of the glass. Lots of corn and crystal malt int he beginning, very nice. Light fruitiness, light sweetness that kept in check. Somehow, it seemed to build up in your mouth, though. Soon, the taste turned into a grape-candy and straw disaster. Its was like the Sam Adams Longshot Grape beer on steroids. The finish was long and sticky, and very unpleasant. If it remained constant in the beginning, I would have really liked this beer. But as it is, no way.

Rated on 02-19-2013 at Abita Brew Pub. This draft beers appearance is a small white head with a short retention, transparent yellow body, no visible carbonation observed, and a fair amount of lacing. The aroma is citrus fruity hops, hint of spice and malt. The flavor mimics the aroma. The mouthfeel is light carbonation and this beer is medium bodied. This beer is quaffable but lacks character.

For what it is, this is a decent beer. I often share this with friends who only drink AALs. Nice gold pour. Small frothy head. Hops, sweetness, and wet grain on the nose. The only sign of the high alcohol is the sweetness in the body. It's a little toasty. There is a little yeast and some dry hop flavor. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Golden pour with a very thin white head. Yeasty, bready aroma. Flavor is toasted malts with an nice ceral backbone. Lingering straw flavor. Not a hint of the high abv. This one could be very dangerous. Pretty good but its sure not a dopplebock as the label implies, certainly an imperial pils per the ratebeer description. I do love an imperial pilsner, this one aint bad.

bottle @ Party Town / Florence KY --- Clear dark amber with a two-finger white head, bands of lace. Taste is semi-sweet malt that shows no change through the palate, and only a pinch of hops in a slightly warm finish. Way short of body and complexity for an 8% abv.

12 oz bottle into a pint glass. Pours a pale yellow, with a small white head that quickly fades. No lacing. Nose is very faint malt, and taste is similar--very faint malt, slightly sweet. Finish is dry and very short. Meh.

Had at 2014 Joplin Ozarks Beerfest. Caramel, boozy, buttery. Strong flavor, but to the point of being overpowering.

Radiant and bright pastel orange with mild carbonation and a mostly lasting white foam. Melonous, bready mix on the nose with plenty of candied fruit chews coming through. Sweet, sickly, candyish, fairy floss/cotton candy flooded palate. There is supple, sweet malt to balance the sweet fruit esters and candied sweet overtones offering a sweet complexity of sugary sweetness. Mmmm, teeth rattling fun!!!! Medium light in body and moderate in carbonation but nothing detracts from the sugary mess. Heated, alcohol spice to the gammy sweet swallow. Filtered and pasteurised meaning it will never further develop in the bottle to rid those pent up sugars. That sucks as hidden underneath could be a delightful hellerbock. Just weird! draft; light amber color; crisp; just slightly sweet malt and just enough noble hops to make it a well balanced beer

Bottle from Whole Foods. Aroma is weak. Appearance is apple juice. Palate is full and thick. Taste is a strong light malty flavor with lingering aftertaste. A little better than Hurricane High Gravity or Natty Daddy. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
